Okay.. exams are over so less stress. So I can write another song review yay! In fact, today I will be doing my favourite song. And i heard it almost 1000 times. Yes, really ALMOST 1000 times = Few hundred haha! LOL okay. In case you don't know, I will be doing this song called Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers. To me, and I think it is, one of their best songs. It is also a song in The 100 Greatest Guitar Songs Of All Time in the Rolling Stones magazine. Wonderful song. Meaningful too. Haha.. and i keep listening to it today... Okay here it is Okay Lets start from the beginning. The guitar intro for this song is in my opinion nice as the dynamics of the riff suits my liking. The intro is melancholic and dramatic in the sense that it brings up the really sad and lonely feeling in me.
The intro continues to a verse of a similar feel to it, and if there is only the guitar in it. Then, there is a good buildup towards the next part of the song which is the Bridge where it progresses to have more instruments and it gets more distinctive. The feeling builds up as well with the arrival with the other instruments.
As it gets closer to the end of the song, it gets more heavy feeling, heavy in the sense that the emotions become stronger. For me the climax of the song is when the choir starts to sing.. as it makes it very, don't know how to explain but I think "majestic" can fit, and the emotions in the song gets very very strong.
There is an irony, however in the song. The ironical part being the chords for the guitar sounds ,not very distinctive, happier as compared to the main feeling Anthony is trying to bring out.
Yup this was quite delayed but thats all I got. =) To all the ppl mugging... Good Luck and may this song relive your bottled stress, pain, hate, fears, misery, depression etc.
